Andrew Wilson
Andrew has over 20 years magazine publishing experience and has worked for such companies as AIM Publications and NatMag Specialist Media, where he was Production Director. He left Nat Mags in the autumn of 2002 to form his own company, Unity Print and Publishing, where he has put his wealth of experience to good use helping other publishers with their production and manufacturing needs. Andrew has been at the forefront of chasing standards within the publishing industry, most notably through his work with the Periodical Publishers Association (PPA), where he was a member of their Production and Technology committee. He has been a steering committee member for Digital Ad Lab for the past 3 years.
Recent highlights include, the launch in 2003 of a series of guides to help people through the maze of producing documents in a digital environment – topics include, Better Document Creation, Handling Digital Images, Colour Management, Pre-Flighting and out in the Spring of 2005, Digital Print. These small guides are all free and copies can be obtained by contacting Andrew at Unity.
Most recently, Andrew has just launched The Print Manager's Handbook which explains all the graphical arts community needs to know about current and emerging print production methods, desktop technology and file creation, print trends and much more. Again, copies can be obtained by contacting Andrew, with a special offer for AdLab members.
Although a great supporter of all things digital, Andrew is delighted at the way that paper-based products have more than held their own against a plethora of competing media.
