Dynamic publishing panel discussion
A range of vendors were invited to present their current activity relating to dynamic publishing, next time it will be users.
Chris Friend, Vio
Chris gave us an intro to XML and managing content. He questioned why there were so few end-to-end workflows for a technology so flexible as XML. Please click here for the full presentation and some suggestions of what the DAL could do to help the industry towards the holy grail of a digital supply chain!
Gavin Drake, Quark
Gavin commented that everyone wants dynamic publishing, but few accept the price. For a copy of Gavin’s presentation please click here. He also showed an interesting customer testimonial, which is available via www.thedynamicpublisher.com/en/archives/05_09/xml-for-dynamic-publishing.html
Mike Palmer, Adstream
Mike talked about the fact that open standards will deliver better advertising, idea is to marry design and content. Task is to turn the idea around to appeal to the customer, eg don’t blast them with technology but talk about the increase in sales. Please click here for a copy of Mike’s presentation.
